Victims of Crime Survey (Smart Justice and Victim Support - ICM, Jan 2006). Findings include: 51% of people surveyed believe that one "effective option for stopping offenders committing further crimes" is for them to "meet their victims (if the victims wish) so victims can tell the offender what impact their behaviour had on them and their family and for the offender to be called to account and make amends for what they've done."
